Do you Americans out there respect the British?
And if it came to war would you be glad Britain is on your side ?

We don't only respect them!!!! We WORSHIP them!!!!!!! Their adorable accents, there beautiful culture, even if we don't want to express it we want to be YOU!!!!!
I don't think they respect us, because in general they don't really understand us or our culture and know little about what happens here. They don't respect us they just want to be condescending to people who fit the stereotype which doesn't really reflect the reality of life for most people in Britain. They also want to hear 'British accents' (by that they mean London accents, they don't care for other accents in Britain e.g. Scouse, Mancunian, Scottish, Irish etc. or the other languages in Britain) but if they knew or cared they would know it's only a culture of entitled white Londoners who talk like that and live the life they, and most Brits themselves, wish for. All the Americans I know living in Britain are actually shocked and disappointed at how dull and ordinary it is.
Secondly, I'm speaking from a British point of view here but I don't think they want us as war allies either. The disrespect Obama has shown Britain in the last few years tells me that the special relationship between us is insignificant in their eyes, we should be clinging to our European allies instead who understand and respect us more.
I completely respect the British. Although the British armed forces are much smaller than ours, they are extremely tough, well-equipped and well-trained. I respect the military alliance, but to me culture is more important. The influence the British have had on music since the 1960s is immense. They have pretty much the best literature in the world. They have awesome TV and radio and I like their movies. I have been to London three times and it is by far the best city I have ever visited. Whether you are talking shopping, nightlife, museums, sports, London has it all, and more. It is hard not to respect people who serve up all of that.
I was in America before and one American brought me dinner because I was British I couldn't exactly say no.
Some do some don't the new generation dont because they wasn't there to witness the war
The British have better everything, Better music, better accents, a better language. I've always loved their TV shows too...
Of course Americans respect the British. We are allies. The country is friends with one another, they help us we help them
As a history buff, I have always been kind of a fan of Winston Churchill. Does that count?
you pinchpricks were the ones that chased america off to start its own country
Nope we don't need anyone :)
