Can a water damaged laptop still work?

So yesterday night I was so carelessly pouring some water into a cup until i dropped it and it all spilt on my laptop which was in front. I panicked wiped some water off and about 30 secs later turned it off. I let the some water drip out which was in the laptop. I tried to turn it back on (which was the wrong thing to do) and it didnt turn back on. Put the charger in and the charger sign lights up. No smoke or anything I let it to dry and the next day still no luck with turning it on. What should I do now? Leave it to dry more? pls help I cannot afford another.

No smoke or weird sounds are good signs. Try opening the laptop case and blow dry it for half an hour. Let it sit for several days. Make sure the laptop is completely dry before turning it on. If the charger was also damaged. Go to topmic charger for a lifetime warranty charger
Every Hardware in side a computer can be damaged with water, if the water goes the the computer it is really serious, it needs to be fixed up, but if the water doesn't flow through ur pc it is okay, but you are not sure for that, so i really advice u to go to a technician and they will check it for u.
It will definitely have to be fixed in a workshop - so, while you're not paying for a new laptop, you'll have to free up some cash to pay for this.

Accidents happen - do you have house insurance - perhaps you can claim on that
put it in a bag with rice and leave it 4 days, then try switching on. But i think its a gonner if you switched it back on when wet.
